How are Consumers and Farmers approaching Antimicrobial Resistance?

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a concern for consumers and agribusiness. How do people come together to form a one health solution?
Consumers and Farmers Dialog on Antimicrobial Resistance.

Is human antimicrobial resistance a result of animal agriculture's use of these important tools? How will current legislative initiatives affect our access and administration? Is there a track record in other countries to guide our decision-making?

The One Health Approach to Antimicrobial Use and Resistance Symposium gathered prominent speakers and industry insiders in a unique round-table work environment.

Under the auspices of the National Institute for Animal Agriculture, the event follows up on last year's extremely successful Antibiotic Use In Food Animals. The resulting presentations and white paper from the 2011 conference have been downloaded over ten-thousand times.

Thanks to the National Institute for Animal Agriculture and conference sponsors, the presentations are available to you on and YouTube as a playlist.

To help get started in understanding antimicrobials, watch Dr. Kurt Stevenson, MD, An Overview of Antimicrobial Use and then listen to Dr. Lonnie King, DVM, present the keynote for the symposium.
