Pork Academy: Information and Education

The Pork Academy offers farm mangers and staff an opportunity to learn about the issues and research that are supported through the Pork Checkoff.

Through the Pork Checkoff, research and tools are developed to help understand / manage disease issues like PEDV, provide updates on consumer preferences, and share position conversations around antibiotics. These presentations help management and staff communicate with consumers, and integrate economics into daily farm decision making process.

The 2015 Pork Academy provided information on the FDA's Antibiotic Guidance, an update on the Secure Pork Supply, and two session on meat quality and consumer perceptions ( Pork Quality - Retail Meat Benchmarking and High Quality Pork Increases Positive Consumer Eating Experiences).
