Dr. Sid Thakur, Assistant Professor, North Carolina State University, studies antibiotic resistance on farm, slaughter, retail, and human environments. Dr. Thakur states that antimicrobial resistance is an international problem. Additionally antimicrobial and antibiotic use spans all parts of the chain from farm, food processing, food services, food retail, and home.
