What Do Animal Disease Outbreak Response Networks Do?

Outbreak Response from a Packer’s Perspective - Dr. Lily Edwards-Callaway, Technical Service, Animal Welfare, JBS USA, LLC, from the 2013 NIAA Merging Values and Technology conference, April 15-17, 2013, Louisville, KY, USA.

Dr. Lily Edwards-Callaway points out that the animal disease response network is complex and then asks the question "Where are the packer operations in the network?". JBS, as a partner in that network, must be able to prepare, prevent, response, and recover if and when an event occurs. As part of the preparation process she must ask questions that everyone hopes never actually happen but if they do, the planning and response would minimize the impacts.
