Truro native Drew Locke opened the door of his brand-new brooder yesterday, built under his family's house deck on Perry Road, and took a quick glimpse inside.
About 200 fluffy, tan Redbro chicks had arrived only minutes before from Pennsylvania, via the North Truro post office. The chicks will enjoy the hatchery heat lamps for three weeks, and feed for eight weeks more on grass, alfalfa, clover and grain inside a covered pen in Locke's lower yard.
