Research on / for the podcast industry: Must read and use!

Submitted by John Blue on Sat, 08/16/2008 - 06:13.

I am at the New Media Expo, listening to Tom Webster of Edison Media Research.

Here are some resources to learn more about new media and its utilization.

  • The Podcast Consumer Revealed 2008 by Edison Media Research.
  • Internet & Multimedia 2008 Reports by Edison Media Research.

Tom presented a well thought through presentation on market research done on the topic of new media, podcasting, web, radio, and TV. Very informative and usable. Highly recommended reading and a must for evaluation against your show.

Three things he ended on:

  • Know you product, your customers, and the 'Theory of the Firm'.
  • ABM: Always Be Measuring!
  • Don't be convenient. be unmissable. Reward urgency.

See Edison Media Research published material for more.
