Hey guys,
Wanted to say thanks for the services you’re providing. We started using social media here at the N.C. Department of Agriculture during last year’s N.C. State Fair, where we had a lot of fun with blogging, Facebook and Twitter.
I wanted to pass on to you the Department’s new blog (we launched last week) and Facebook page. While we had great success with the State Fair social media, representing an entire state agency had a few more obstacles to overcome. We are lucky to have a communications team and Ag Commissioner who sees the worth of social media’s two-way communication and open share of info. We’ve gotten some great responses from media, blog commenters and Facebook fans.
We’d love to be included on your next Who is using new/social media in Ag? Section in the e-mail, and any other projects you have going on. We think it’s really exciting that agriculture is embracing this new wave of technology, especially as the average age of farmers continues to increase and the next generation needs more and more incentives and tools to succeed. Thanks again for the working you’re doing.
Best,
Karlie Justus
