BeefCast® achieves milestone with 200th show

Submitted by Raylee St. Onge on Fri, 03/21/2008 - 17:50.

INDIANAPOLIS — The beef cattle industry’s leading multi-media information source, BeefCast®, released it’s 200th podcast March 21 – firmly establishing itself as a cutting-edge success in bringing news, educational forums and event coverage to today’s cattlemen and women. The first episode was launched in November 2006.

BeefCast® is produced by Truffle Media and sponsored by Elanco and includes a three-times weekly podcast and comprehensive Web site. Found at www.BeefCast.com, the site offers breaking stories, blogs from industry experts and highlights of national conferences and meetings, along with current and archived podcasts available to listen to or download.

Trent Fredenburg, host of BeefCast®, said the 200th podcast marks the acceptance of new technologies from today’s cattle producers. “BeefCast is really about transforming the delivery of information into an open conversation,” said Fredenburg. “It’s interactive, it’s interest-driven and it’s international. Plus, with the podcast and internet formats, information is timely and convenient to access.”

The 200th BeefCast® podcast will initiate a series of producer-oriented programs on cattle breeding and reproduction. Topics will include new breeding tools for the upcoming year, reproductive methods for improving calving rate and health, and overall management strategies.
