PoultryCast Update for June 16, 2011, Food Safety/Biosecurity

The U.S. poultry and egg industry should redouble efforts to improve consumer understanding and perceptions, according to DSM's Marc de Beer.  It's a good story of efficiency, productivity and food safety and it needs to be shared.

Food Safety/Biosecurity is a topic in a recent TechNation episode featuring Tom Thornton, president and CEO of the Kansas Bioscience Authority.  Thornton tells host Dr. Moira Gunn why battening down the food security hatches against the introduction of foreign disease is difficult and critically important.
