The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently (July 2011) finalized rulings that aim reduce air pollution and attain clean air standards. The Cross-State Air Pollution Rule (CSAPR), requires 27 states to significantly improve air quality by reducing power plant emissions that contribute to ozone and/or fine particle pollution in other states. The impact to agriculture is not yet fully known. Lion Technology Inc. is offering a series of workshops to help identify the legal and regulatory issues and help managers plan for compliance and remediation. Details on the ruling and EPA studies are available at the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule home page.
