What is FoodSafety.gov?

Agriculture's main output is food consumed world wide. Food goes through many steps from farm to plate. While we all work to insure food is handled safely and securely, with so many processes involved it is inevitable that something will need to be reviewed and require a product recall.

FoodSafety.gov is one tool that can help consumers and producers learn more about specific recalls through the Recalls & Alters widget.

The [U.S.] federal government will enhance www.foodsafety.gov to better communicate information to the public and include an improved individual alert system allowing consumers to receive food safety information, such as notification of recalls. Agencies will also use social media to expand public communications.

Besides the Recalls & Alerts widget, FoodSafety.gov offers resource channels to report issues, learn more about inspections, and read food safety news covering a range of food / food safety topics.
